Kemper unveil the Profiler MK 2 Series

Entire amp & effects modelling line-up refreshed

Kemper Profiler MK 2 Series guitar amp effects modelling hardware

Kemper’s Profiler series has built up a solid reputation in the guitar world, and the company have gradually expanded the line-up over the years with rackmount and pedalboard-friendly variants joining the original unit. Now, they’ve announced the launch of the Profiler MK 2 Series, which includes new and improved versions of the entire range.

Effects & Profiling

The Profiler MK 2 Series kits users out with seven additional effect blocks, raising the total number of simultaneous audio effect blocks to an impressive 20, all of which are capable of running with zero added signal latency. The new additions include a second Noise Gate (Palm Ninja), along with Compressor, Pure Booster, WahWah, Vintage Chorus, Air Chorus and Double Tracker modules.

Of course, the key selling point for Kemper has always been their acclaimed profiling technology, and the company have revealed that a significant update is currently being tested, and is set for release in Summer 2025. Here’s an overview of what’s to come:

  • More than 100,000 individual frequency points meticulously analysed for the most precise amp recreation ever achieved.
  • Next-Level Speaker & Dynamically adjustable Cabinet Resonance: Capturing the true dynamics of your setup with the longest and most complex impulse responses in the industry.
  • Liquid Profiling Technology: Seamlessly integrate the original amp’s gain and tone controls, transforming a single profile into a fully dynamic, living amplifier.
  • Unparalleled Precision & Feel: a cutting-edge hybrid approach combining precise, deterministic analog measurement with Kemper’s industry-leading profiling intelligence.

Other New Features

Along with the headline features, the updated product range benefits from a number of other enhancements and improvements. For example, all Profiler MK 2 units offer eight-channel audio over USB, allowing for multitrack DAW recording and re-amping, while some behind-the-scenes improvements mean improved boot times, quicker preset switching and a more responsive user interface. The onboard looper has been upgraded, too, and now offers up to two minutes of recording time.

Those who already own the Kemper Player will be pleased to know that being a more recent addition to the line-up, it’s already compatible with the MK 2 updates and will gain the new signal flow features via a free update.

“The new Profiler MK 2 Series makes the Profilers feel more like a complete rig than ever before. With instant access to essential effects, full USB audio integration and improved playability, we’re giving our users a platform that adapts and grows with them.” - Christoph Kemper, Founder and CEO, Kemper
