Make Noise introduce MultiMod module

Modulation tool boasts ultra-wide peak-to-peak I/O range

Make Noise MultiMod Eurorack modular synth modulation

Modular experts Make Noise have announced the launch of a new Eurorack module which they say represents a new approach to complex modulations. The MultiMod takes a single control signal and creates eight duplicates, providing users with control over their relative speed and phase relationships.

The module has been built on new DSP hardware developed for the New Universal Synthesizer System. It features eight high-resolution outputs and offers input and output signal ranges that approach the upper limits of the Eurorack standard — all of the modules I/O boasts a 20V range, exceeding the usual 0–5V range of typical CV inputs.

A Phase control defines the time-based spacing between each signal copy, with each channel getting gradually more out of phase, while a Spread dial provides a vari-speed control that causes each channel to become progressively faster or slower than the original input signal. Next up is Time, which determines the range of time captured at the input, and therefore the depth of modulation that is applied to the duplicates of the input signal when Phase and Spread are manipulated. The module is also equipped with Tempo, Hold, and Reset features, along with a selection of Read Shapes that allow for temporal rearrangement of the input signal. When no input signal is present, MultiMod will generate an LFO that can be copied eight times and manipulated in the same ways.

Key Features

  • Generate vari-speed, phase-modulated copies of any modulation signal.
  • Dramatically control eight CVs with just three fully modulatable parameters.
  • Multiple unique read shapes for varying traversal through copied signals.
  • Tempo/Reset inputs and Clock output for temporal system integration.
  • Hold feature for looping captured signals.
  • Ultra-wide 20V peak-to-peak I/O ranges approach analogue maximums of the Eurorack system.
  • Calibrated to accurately pass critical control signals such as quantised pitch CV.
  • Internally generated signals for ‘LFO mode’ when nothing is patched into the Signal Input.

Specs

  • Width: 10hp
  • Max depth: 39mm (including power cable)
  • Power: 195mA +12V / 10mA -12V

Pricing & Availability

The MultiMod is available now, priced at $349.
