VocAlign, the vocal timing correction processor from Synchro Arts, has just been given a major overhaul. VocAlign Ultra boasts a huge number of new features, including the ability to lock the pitches of two vocal performances together, in addition to their timing. A new Tightness control lets you decide how closely the timing of two recordings should conform to one another, and you can now also shift the formants of an audio clip, to alter the sound of a singer's voice.
VocAlign Ultra also introduces full ARA2 compatibility for DAWs that support it, and the user interface has also been hugely improved, with enhanced waveform and pitch displays and a fully resizable main window.
Synchro Arts kindly furnished us with an advance copy of VocAlign Ultra, and you can read our full in-depth review of it in the February edition of Sound On Sound, or for free in your browser, at this link.
VocAlign Ultra is available now, and carries a standard price of £285. However, it's currently on sale for the introductory price of £199. Educational and upgrade discounts are also available.
