The latest addition to Native Instruments’ extensive range of virtual instruments and sample libraries captures the sound of Fender’s iconic Jazz Bass. Packed with over 280 playable patterns and phrases and paired with a powerful selection of effects from NI’s Guitar Rig software, Jam Bass offers a quick and simple way to write bass parts for just about any genre.
Native Instruments have developed the instrument alongside Drumasonic, the award-winning team behind other Komplete offerings such as Icon Bass, Prime Bass, Upright Bass, Electric Sunburst, Electric Vintage, Strummed Acoustic, Picked Acoustic, Session Percussionist and more. They say that they captured a stunning example of a USA-made instrument, with their detailed approach to sampling and advanced scripting resulting in an incredibly realistic playing experience.
Key Features
- Tonal Versatility: Blend the warmth of the neck pickup with the punch of the bridge pickup for a truly versatile sonic palette.
- Expressive Styles: Play it with fingerstyle, plectrum, slaps and pops, or patterns spanning from intricate syncopated funk to tight, driving rock and jazz grooves.
- Patterns Played by Pros: Over 280 professionally performed patterns across multiple song presets, as well as MIDI drag-and-drop functionality for full customisation in your DAW.
- Build a Custom Bass Rig: Choose from clean D.I. or warm ribbon mic for your input, then explore a comprehensive suite of amps, cabinets and effects courtesy of Guitar Rig 7 Pro — navigate through over 50 presets, or build your sound from the ground up.
As you might expect, the instrument features NKS compatibility, and so boasts in-depth integration with NI’s Kontrol keyboards. Along with automatic parameter mapping, their onboard Light Guide displays key ranges and articulations, offering an intuitive way to switch between playing styles and trigger expressive techniques such as slides and mutes. Following the company’s recent announcement, NKS support also now extends to select hardware from the likes of Novation, Akai Pro, M-Audio, Korg and Nektar. /news/native-instruments-expand-nks-partnerships
