PreSonus launch Atom SQ

MIDI controller promises tight integration with Studio One DAW

PreSonus Atom SQ

PreSonus' recent announcement about the update of their popular Studio One DAW overshadowed another launch of theirs — which is a shame, as it looks pretty significant in its own right!

The Atom SQ is a desktop MIDI pad controller designed to make drum programming and clip launching a more tactile affair. The 16 pads along the bottom facilitate classic TR-style step sequencing, or can be used to control Studio One's Pattern Editor. Indeed, PreSonus describe it as “the best Studio One MIDI controller available”, and the fact that its launch coincides with the introduction of Studio One's clip-launching abilities is surely no coincidence.

Other features include a user-assignable touch strip for real-time control of software parameters, transport and navigation buttons, an internal arpeggiator, and a high-res colour LCD screen.

It's not available yet, but when it goes on sale the Atom SQ is set to cost somewhere in the region of $250 USD. Check out the product page below for more info.
