Printer happy

Copytrax set their sights on the studio
Though not the typical product to be found in SOS, this inkjet CD printer from Copytrax will be of interest to many of you. It’s designed for low-volume printing of CDs and DVDs, and is aimed at schools and colleges as well as music studios; basically anyone who wants to print on to the face of a CD.

It’s called the DaVinci 6-6, and it can print “photo-realistic” images on six discs at once, processing up to 130 discs per hour. It costs around £1050 including VAT, so could be considered quite pricey compared to the cost of getting CDs printed elsewhere, but if you’re creating demos for bands or making batches of your own CDs on a regular basis, you should be able to recoup your initial outlay in no time.

The Copytrax DaVinci 6-6 is shipping now and is available direct from the manufacturers. Visit the Copytrax web site for further information.
