Sequential unveil the Take 5 Desktop Module

Polysynth gets new desktop version

Sequential Take 5 Desktop Module analogue polysynth

Sequential have announced the launch of the Take 5 Desktop Module, a new desktop instrument that makes the sounds and capabilities of their popular Take 5 synth available in a more compact and accessible form factor.

Building on the success of its keyboard-equipped sibling, the new module comes loaded with the same analogue oscillator and filter designs that capture the iconic sound of Sequential’s legendary Prophet-5, with the enhancement of more modern modulation capabilities and onboard digital effects. Said to be ideal for live performances and compact studio setups, the module offers all of the same hands-on control as its keyboard counterpart, allowing for intuitive sound design and real-time parameter adjustments.

"Ever since we launched the Take 5 keyboard, we’ve gotten repeated requests for a desktop module version. And more recently, it seems that modules have really shot up in popularity. So, we're very excited to offer the Take 5 sound in a format that everyone seems to want." - David Gibbons, CEO, Sequential

Key Features

  • Two analogue VCOs per voice.
  • Continuously variable wave shape (sine, sawtooth, variable-width pulse) per oscillator.
  • Hard sync: Oscillator 1 syncs to Oscillator 2
  • Square-wave sub-octave generator (Oscillator 1) per voice.
  • Keyboard tracking on/off for each oscillator.
  • Front-panel FM.
  • Four-pole, resonant, low-pass filter per voice — based on Prophet-5 Rev 4 design.
  • Filter can be driven into self-oscillation with the Resonance control.
  • Bipolar filter envelope amount.

  • Velocity modulation of each envelope amount.
  • Envelopes freely assignable to multiple modulation destinations.
  • One global LFO and one per-voice LFO.
  • Five LFO wave shapes: triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square and random (sample and hold).
