Analog Code plug-ins released
German analogue hardware experts Sound Performance Lab (SPL) have started a process of releasing digital plug-in versions of some of their most popular products.

The first of these is a VST, Audio Units and RTAS version of the Transient Designer, the hardware version of which can be found in a great many studios around the world. Of course, the Transient Designer is already available as a plug-in on Universal Audio’s UAD platform, but this is apparently a completely separate version.

Also available with the Transient Designer will be plug-in versions of SPL’s Vox Ranger, Bass Ranger and Full Ranger passive EQs, which are available in hardware form for the Rack Pack modular processing system.

SPL say that the new plug-ins, called Analog Code, have been designed using “the latest, most powerful methods available for high-precision modelling” that produce greater results than plug-ins built using purely mathematical approaches.

SPL say that future releases in the Analog Code range will include front- and back-end processors, as well as software versions of products in their Mastering Series. They also say that TDM versions of the latest plug-ins are soon to follow. We’ll let you know as soon as they’re available!
