Aimed at touring and fixed installations, the latest addition to Tascam’s range of media players offers playback from SD Cards, USB drives and a built-in DAB and FM radio receiver, as well as the option of adding wireless Bluetooth streaming.
The MP-800UDAB is a 1U rackmount device that features front-panel control over all of its key functions and playback modes. It supports playback of WAV, MP3 and AAC files from either a USB storage device or SD Card — both of which can be connected directly to the front panel — and also comes equipped with an onboard DAB and FM radio tuner. It’s possible to stream audio directly from USB-equipped devices such as laptops, phones and tablets via a USB-C port, and wireless Bluetooth connectivity can be added with an optional AK-BT2 adapter.

Both balanced and unbalanced master outputs are provided (on XLR and RCA connectors respectively), and the MP-800UDAB also includes an additional unbalanced output that can be used to pass the signal from the built-in radio tuner to another device. There’s also an optional expansion card that allows the unit to be controlled via Ethernet.
