Overloud have announced the release of the TH-U Marty Friedman Signature Pack, an all-in-one amp simulation plug-in suite. Developed alongside Marty Friedman of Megadeth, the pack includes models of the legendary guitarist’s go-to pedal, amplifier and cabinet setups.
There are four amp heads and three cabinet models included, along with three signature pedal emulations. A Heaven Clean amp offers Marty’s trademark clean sound, whilst Devil Crunch offers a slightly more distorted tone which can still be employed on clean parts by lowering the guitar volume control. There are then two high-gain models with built-in noise suppressors: Devil Lead, a model favoured by Marty for solos, and Tornado, which recreates the tones of Megadeth’s golden era.
The three signature effects include Eternity, which is based on a particular Alesis Quadraverb preset which formed the basis for the clean tones used on songs such as ‘Tibet or Valley’ of ‘Eternity’, along with Booster, which can be used to push crunch-style tones into more obvious distortion. Space Machine, meanwhile, can be used to provide a wider stereo image and create ‘doubler’ effects.
The Cabinet section features virtual microphones that can be placed anywhere in a 3D space in front of the cabinet — there are a total of 18 microphone models and six room types — as well as being equipped with angle and panning controls. A double IR (impulse response) loader allows users to mix IR files with the cabinet microphones, with the company’s ReSPiRe 2 technology allowing users to choose between the real response of the cabinet and a processed version that has been optimised to fit into a mix. It is also possible to customise the amps themselves, with Overloud’s DSP making it possible to select different preamp and power valve models.
The pack is available either as an add-on for those with a licence for Overloud’s TH-U plug-in, or as a standalone purchase that includes all of TH-U’s editing features including the Rig Player, Tuner and Looper. In addition to the signature content, it also includes one cabinet and eight effects from the TH-U Premium edition package.

The TH-U Marty Friedman Signature Pack is supported on PCs running Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10, and Macs running macOS 10.7 and above. VST, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.
