Vintage samples now downloadable

Hollow Sun offer new on-line delivery
British samplesmiths Hollow Sun have around 25 years of experience in the field of sampling. Company director Steve Howell worked as a consultant for Akai back in the ’80s and ’90s, creating samples for their original S900 sampler and designing the interfaces of many subsequent models.
Things have come a long way since then, and Hollow Sun have released many sample libraries in Kontakt and Akai S5/S6 formats. All of the libraries have been focused on recreating the sound of vintage keyboards and synthesizers, attempting to give you a “close to having the actual instrument in your studio” feel. In order to achieve this goal, samples have been captured from the direct line outputs of the instruments. With packages ranging from the crunchy sounds of vintage samplers, such as the Fairlight CMI, to the smooth ’70s string-synth tones of the Moog Opus, there’s a wide range of sounds to choose from covering many musical genres.
The Hollow Sun web site has been redesigned, and now includes PayPal buttons enabling customers to download the libraries. Prices range from $10 to $50, with plenty of free packs available as well. Sample CDs are still available on request.
