VSL introduce SYNCHRON-ized Orchestral Strings

Another VI Series library gets the Synchron treatment

VSL SYNCHRON-ized Orchestral Strings sample library

While all of VSL’s recent releases utilise the company’s Synchron Player platform, a number of their older products are still available in the form of the VI Series, which is hosted in their Vienna Instruments playback engine. Alongside their new libraries, the company have also been rebuilding some old favourites, creating new and updated versions that take advantage of the increased power and flexibility offered by Synchron Player. The latest packages to get such a treatment are Orchestral Strings I and II, which have now reappeared in the form of SYNCHRON-ized Orchestral Strings

The new collection features ensembles of 14 first violins, 14 second violins, 10 violas, 8 cellos and 6 basses, all recorded in the relatively dry environment of VSL’s second studio, the Silent Stage. Due to the controlled sound, the library provides users with a flexible collection of samples that respond well to reverb, allowing them to be placed in a wide variety of acoustic spaces and making them well suited to a huge range of scoring tasks. As you’d expect from VSL, there’s no shortage of detail, with a broad collection of articulations covering everything from expressive long notes and legatos to hard-hitting staccatos, as well as a range of more decorative techniques and a selection of portamentos, glissandos, fast-paced scale runs and trills.

Compatibility

SYNCHRON-ized Orchestral Strings is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 11 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
