Waves plug-ins updated to V15

StudioVerse overhaul, MIDI mapping enhancements & more

Waves V15 plug-in update

Waves have announced the launch of the latest versions of their extensive collection of processing and effects plug-ins. Waves V15 rolls out a whole host of new features across the company’s plug-in line-up, adds new plug-ins to some of their existing bundles, and ensures compatibility with the latest operating systems.

What’s New?

StudioVerse

The update includes a significantly enhanced version of StudioVerse, Waves’ online preset library. A new StudioVerse Instruments plug-in has been introduced, which allows users to browse, audition and play thousands of virtual instrument presets, while the existing StudioRack plug-in has been redesigned and renamed StudioVerse Audio Effects. Although it sports a new GUI and offers enhanced functionality, it is fully backwards compatible with older StudioRacks presets and sessions.

MIDI Mapping

Almost all of the company’s existing plug-ins have gained new MIDI mapping capabilities, with users now able to map, save and recall multiple MIDI controller settings, making it simpler to switch between different controllers when moving between studio and mobile setups, for example.

Parameter Locking

A new Parameter Lock makes the task of comparing presets less frustrating, as it’s now possible to fix parameters at their current values and avoid having to re-balance the likes of input, output and mix controls when auditioning new settings.

Specific Updates & Bundle Changes

V15 adds a new side-chain filter to the SSL G-Master Bus Compressor, a new Dual mode to H-Delay, and HiDPI GUI upgrades across a range of plug-ins along with general stability improvements. Additionally, several recently released plug-ins have been added to Waves’ Mercury, Horizon, Diamond, Platinum and Gold bundles.
