Back in January, we brought you news of SSL’s innovative X-Patch, a digitally controlled analogue patch bay. The X-Patch connects to a computer via Ethernet, and a browser-based application allows you to configure the X-Patch’s connections, as well as choose +4dBu or -10dBV nominal signal levels on a per-socket basis. But now, the Oxford-based mixer specialists have announced an alternative means of control: Apple’s iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad! All you have to do is connect the X-Patch to a WiFi network, and the Remote Control For X-Patch app lets you configure it as you would using a browser. You can store up to 128 presets for each X-Patch found on the network, and each X-Patch detected can be selected and controlled independently.
The Remote Control For X-Patch app is available to download, for free, from the App Store.
