Submersible Music go deeper...

...With KitCore v2.0

Submersible Music have released version two of their KitCore MIDI-based virtual drummer software. New features include a long-awaited MIDI groove browser, which lets the user search and audition the MIDI content of the library.

Searches can be made based on musical style and feel — using terms like ‘shuffle’, or ‘swing’ — as well as by drummer (Submersible’s KitPack add-ons feature MIDI grooves played by big names such as Terry Bozzio and Sly Dunbar). Choices from the search results can be dragged and dropped into the DAW host.

Also new in KitCore v2.0 is technology called LiveDrummer, which enhances the MIDI engine of the previous version of the software. LiveDrummer apparently provides greater realism, reducing artifacts such as the ‘machine-gun effect’ and increasing the range of note velocities. It is implemented using a virtual fader on the KitCore user interface. The update is free to registered users of KitCore v1, and it can be downloaded from Submersible Music’s web site. It's compatible with VST, Audio Units and RTAS host applications.

In other KitCore news, the Deluxe version of the software, which ships with most of the MIDI grooves and drumkits found in Submersible Music’s DrumCore Deluxe product, has been updated with Matt Cameron (Soundgarden) and John Tempesta (Helmet) grooves and drum kits. KitCore Deluxe v2 is also free to registered users.
