Described as a dual octave engine, the latest release from Fuse Audio Labs combines octave-down and octave-up effects into a single, intuitive plug-in. OCELOT Octaver can be used to add some low-end weight to kick drums and basses, brighten up lacklustre synth sounds and more, all while incurring minimal latency and CPU load.
The plug-in features an Amount control for its Oct-1 and Oct+1 sections, but differs from typical octave effects by including a pair of Tune dials that allow users to adjust the frequency range that’s targeted by the processor — both Tune parameters are complemented by a Listen button that isolates the generated signal. Bypass and Solo buttons are provided for both octaves, and a Level control at the plug-in’s output offers ±12dB of gain adjustment. There’s plenty of visual feedback, with a main level meter joined by a pair of meters that display the level of each generated octave, and a large visualiser display occupying the lower half of the plug-in’s GUI.
Compatibility
OCELOT Octaver is supported on PCs running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs running macOS 10.12 and above. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
