The Footprint range serve as an entry point to Barefoot’s monitoring line-up, comprising four models that aim to bring the sound and performance of their flagship systems to smaller rooms and budgets. Two of the models, the Footprint 01 and 02, have recently been treated to an overhaul that introduces new driver designs and promises to deliver some significant performance improvements.
Both the Footprint 01 Gen2 and Footprint 02 Gen2 now feature a tri-amplified design that provides dedicated amplification for each driver, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. They’ve also been fitted with the tweeter that was designed for the Footprint 03, a move which is said to result in improved linearity, detail and dynamic response. a number of Barefoot’s proprietary technologies make an appearance, too, including:
- Patented SPOC (SPectrally Optimized Conversion) leverages the speaker crossover filtering to significantly increase A-D/D-A conversion resolution for unmatched clarity.
- Dual Force design employs active opposing woofers that cancel cabinet vibrations before they develop and delivers deep, solid, high-resolution bass.
- MEME (Multi-Emphasis Monitor Emulation) provides four iconic and instantly selectable voicings: Flat, Hi Fi, Cube and Old School. Engineers can reference mixes across multiple real world playback situations. Creators can have one monitor that is both analytical (Flat) and inspirational (Hi Fi).
