RT60’s mobile songwriting App has just been treated to its third major version update, which introduces some powerful new AI-based tools that promise to make headphone-free recording a reality. Thanks to the company’s HFR technology, users of Songzap v3 can isolate and remove bleed in real time, resulting in clear recordings with no artefacts or spill.
The bleed removal is carried out locally and is instantaneous, meaning that there is no cloud-based processing and no rendering time. RT60 say that unlike current stem-isolation technologies, Songzap’s Headphone-Free Recording algorithm is source agnostic, and is capable of isolating elements such as vocal recordings from extraneous vocal spill, making it the perfect solution for songwriters and top-liners creating layered ideas on the go.
In fact, the process is said to be so smooth that many may not even realise that a clean-up process is taking place! HFR works away while the recording takes place, and by the time the user hits the stop button, the new performance has already been isolated from any backing tracks or previous recordings blasting out of their phone or tablet speaker.

In addition to the headline feature, the new version of Songzap introduces a redesigned Loop-Recording GUI with import, ‘pre-roll’ and ‘live (sync)’ modes. The feature has been designed to cater for different music-making workflows and facilitate external sample integration.
Compatibility
Songzap v3 is supported on iPhones/iPads running iOS 16/iPad OS 16 or higher.
Pricing & Availability
Songzap v3 is available now via the Apple App Store. The basic version is free, and the full range of advanced AI features can be unlocked with a Songzap Premium subscription, which is priced at $20 per year.
