Ableton introduce rent-to-own plan

Live 12 Suite gains new purchase option

Ableton Live Suite 12 Rent To Own

Ableton have announced the introduction of a new rent-to-own option for their flagship DAW software package, significantly reducing the upfront cost for those looking to make the move over to Ableton Live 12 Suite.

Thanks to a new option in the company’s online store, users will now be provided with the choice of spreading the cost of their purchase across 24 monthly payments. The EDU version — which is available to those studying or teaching at a school, college or university — is also covered by the plan and is subject to 12 monthly payments. Unlike a subscription model, the new plan leaves users with a full license that remains active once all monthly payments have been made.

The plan can be paused at any time without incurring any penalties or additional charges, with users able to access their software until the end of their current billing cycle. It’s also possible to pay off the remaining balance at any time, and if a new version of Live is released while a plan is active, users will have the option of extending the number of monthly payments to cover the cost of an upgrade.

The new rent-to-own plans are available now, with prices as follows:

  • Live Suite 12: 24 monthly payments of $31.21£22.46 / €24.96.
  • Live Suite 12 EDU: 12 monthly payments of $31.17£22.42 / €24.92.
