ADAM Audio have marked the availability of their new A Series studio monitors by detailing their collaboration with Sonarworks on the range’s DSP room correction, and how SoundID Reference integrates with the on-board DSP.
A Control is a free application designed by ADAM Audio which provides A Series customers with a modern speaker management and equalisation system. Available for Windows and macOS systems, the app allows users to store Sonarworks SoundID Reference calibration profiles directly on the DSP of A Series monitors without the need to run the SoundID Reference application or any additional DAW plug-in, lowering CPU usage and reducing latency.
In addition to facilitating the transfer of SoundID Reference calibration profiles to the loudspeakers, users are also able to create their own calibration profiles using six bands of parametric equalisation, or make changes to the voicing and room settings found on the rear panel of the monitors. All changes made in A Control can be heard in real time from the listening position, allowing users to be confident in their configurations and toggle between uncalibrated and calibrated audio.
SoundID Reference Trial
In order to help as many people as possible experience the new technology, ADAM Audio and Sonarworks are offering an extended 60-day SoundID Reference trial to all A Series customers. Available to those who register their speakers in the MyADAM area of ADAM’s website, the licence offers the full functionality of SoundID Reference, including the ability to export calibration profiles so they can be imported to A Control and transferred to the loudspeakers’ DSP.
It is important to note that a measurement microphone is required in order to perform the necessary measurements and create the calibration profile in SoundID Reference.
