Audio-Technica AT8022 & BP4025

Stereo Pair!
Audio-Technica’s latest releases come in the form of two stereo microphones: the AT8022 and the BP4025, both of which employ a coincidental pair of condenser capsules in the X-Y arrangement.

The AT8022 is designed for consumer and professional use, so it ships with balanced and unbalanced cables and can be powered by an on-board battery or from a phantom power supply. The BP4025, on the other hand, can only take its power from an external source, and only ships with a cable that terminates in three-pin XLRs. Both mics can be camera mounted, and feature 80Hz high-pass filters, and the BP4025 has a 10dB attenuator that isn't featured on the AT8022.

In the USA, the mics cost $499 and $749 for the AT8022 and BP4025 respectively. UK prices were unavailable at the time of writing. Both should be shipping by the end of October 2008.
