BFD Drums have announced the launch of BFD 3.5, the latest update to FXpansion’s ever-popular acoustic drum library. Boasting a wealth of new kits, mix-ready presets and advanced modelling technology that promises to improve tom resonance and cymbal swells, the release is said to take virtual drum production to the next level.
The company say that the latest version of the library arms musicians and producers with more precision, flexibility and depth in their drum tracks than ever before. The already comprehensive set of parameters are joined by a new Microphone Inspector panel that makes it possible to fine-tune the level and placement of individual mic signals, and a revamped GUI includes a new mixer design alongside an improved sound browser. Some changes have been made behinds the scenes too, with the update introducing Apple Silicon AAX plug-in support along with cross-platform VST3 compatibility.
Along with the new kits and presets, BFD 3.5 sports a fresh new look with a redesigned mixer and offers more detailed control over its mic signals.

Compatibility
BFD 3.5 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.13 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

BFD 3.5 is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $59.99 until 3 April 2025, and will cost $199.99 thereafter. The company are also offering discounts of up to 50% on BFD expansion packs for a limited time. BFD 3.5 is a free upgrade for all current users of BFD3.
