BFD have announced the release of BFD Player 1.2, which brings some functionality improvements and a selection of new drum kits, grooves and mix presets to their free virtual drum instrument platform.
With the release of the latest update, BFD Player’s accompanying sample library has gained additional drum kits, and now boasts a collection of 340 drum patterns performed by top drummers, as well as professionally crafted mixer presets. The platform’s editing capabilities have also been improved with the latest update. Users are now able to drag and drop grooves from the Groove Browser directly onto a drum track, as well as taking advantage of enhanced copy, paste and cut functions, and it is now possible to split grooves more precisely using the playhead cursor.
Alongside the software update, BFD have also launched eight new expansion packs that each offer an additional drum kit paired with a dedicated collection of grooves. Each pack focuses on a particular musical genre, with the current selection now offering everything from smooth and sophisticated jazz to hard-hitting heavy metal.

BFD Player 1.2 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 to macOS 13.
Availability
BFD Player 1.2 is available now for free, and comes with a 5GB sample library. Expansion pack prices range from €29.99 to €34.99.
