A dinky new monitor controller has just been announced by speaker boffins Genelec. The 9000A Stereo Volume Control has been styled to look like a mini version of Genelec’s 5040A sub, and the makers say that it is compatible with all Genelec monitors (though due to its apparently passive operation and fairly standard I/O complement, we see no reason why it shouldn’t work with any pair of active speakers, or wherever line-level signals need to be attenuated).
The bulk of the controller is made up of the rotating body, which controls the volume, while a Y-lead provides the inputs and outputs (both unbalanced), on 3.5mm stereo jacks.
Available in three different colours (black, white and silver), the Genelec 9000A will set you back around $99.
