IK GrooveMaker for Apple handset
IK Multimedia have announced an updated version of their GrooveMaker software, previously available on PC and Mac, for the iPhone. The application allows the user to remix built-in loops in real time. The main layout displays eight sample-pads — each of which can be used to trigger an eight-bar stereo loop — as well as 10 context-sensitive controls that manage functions such as bpm and volume. Loops can either be arranged into a sequence for playback later on, or mixed entirely on the fly. The basic version of GrooveMaker — including 125 loops — is entirely free, and can be downloaded from the Apple AppStore. Various other loop packs available from around £3.
