Korg update OASYS with Woodwinds & Brass

And bundle Cubase with the D888
Korg have updated the software for their OASYS workstation keyboard and launched a new expansion library: Brass & Woodwind Ensemble. The library provides over 700 MB of Brass and Woodwind content for the device, which Korg say is “perfect for pop, classical and film-scoring applications”.

A demo version can be downloaded from www.korguser.net, where you can also purchase the unlock code (for $149) that authorises the use of the library on your OASYS. The operating system upgrade is also available from the site. It brings a demo of a new wave-shaping variable-phase modulation synthesizer called the EXi MOD7. There’s also new functionality, such as the ability to load expansion libraries without restarting.

In other news, Korg have announced that they will be bundling a full version of Steinberg’s Cubase LE 4 with their D888 multitrack recorder. It will give customers the facility to edit their recorded tracks on a PC or Mac, rather than inside the D888.
