Get more from your Mac with this SOS co-sponsored advice session
A date has been set for the forthcoming seminar on making music with a Mac, presented by the UK's Macworld magazine, in association with Sound On Sound.
Titled Macworld On Sound, the event will take place on Thursday 30th September, and will cover the latest tips and techniques for music-making on a Mac, and place attendees face to face with a panel of Mac experts and music producers.
Speakers will include Sound On Sound Editor In Chief Paul White and former SOS columnist Paul Farrer (now a successful media composer), as well as Macworld music columnist Mike Collins.
Topics covered will include techniques for leading Mac music software packages (including Logic and Pro Tools), and tutorial sessions on processor plug-ins and virtual instruments, Macs and OS X. There will be case studies from Paul Farrer, a briefing on related developments such as using Rewire with Reason and Ableton’s Live within Pro Tools, and a host of other tips and techniques to help you make music (and money!) with your Mac. There also be an open music-technology Q&A session.
The event takes place in Camden at Lock 17 (formerly Dingwalls), 11 East Yard, Camden Lock, London, NW1 8AF, from 10am to 4pm, and costs £82 including VAT.
As an extra bonus, attendees will also receive a free book worth £34.99; either A Professional Guide To Audio Plug-ins And Virtual Instruments, or Choosing & Using Audio & Music Software, according to preference (and availability). You are advised to book early, as places are limited.
