McDSP have announced that their APB-16 hardware units are back in full production, with all new models now coming equipped with a USB-C connector and support for Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 ports on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
As a result, the updated units are capable of operating at twice the bandwidth of their Thunderbolt 2-equipped predecessors, but can still be used interchangeably within the same system. Native APB drivers and plug-ins are available for Intel and Apple Silicon machines running macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or above, and the latest plug-ins also take advantage of recent graphics rendering improvements introduced in Apple’s newest operating systems.
The latest drivers and plug-ins for APB systems can be downloaded here.
