Moog Music commemorates their 70th anniversary and the birthday of electronic music pioneer Bob Moog with an extraordinary digital experience. The Mini Moog Factory interactive celebration features the iconic Minimoog Model D, allowing visitors to explore a virtual 'factory' and experience the history and sounds that have shaped generations of electronic music.
Drawing inspiration from '90s video games and websites, Moog has teamed up with top NYC‑based design firm Pentagram to create a virtual journey through the world of the Minimoog Model D.
Visitors can play an online version of the Minimoog Model D, complete with over 45 classic presets, to create and share their own musical recordings. The virtual experience also includes an online jukebox that plays well-known songs which feature iconic sounds from the Minimoog and a theatre showcasing the Model D’s history.
You can visit the website in your web browser and try it for yourself at minimoogmodeld.com.
Yuri Suzuki of Pentagram led the project, having previously collaborated with Moog on the Global Synthesizer Project back in 2016 for that year’s Moogfest.
Working on this web project for the past two years has been an incredible journey, as Moog has always been my top fascination. Our goal was to craft a tightly interactive and fun experience that would capture the essence of Dr. Bob Moog and his team’s groundbreaking innovation.” - Yuri Suzuki
Additionally, visitors have the chance to win the serial #1 of the latest edition of the Minimoog Model D through a raffle organised in collaboration with the Bob Moog Foundation. The proceeds from the raffle will support the foundation's mission to inspire people through the intersection of science, music, technology, and innovation.
Visit Moog Music's website for more information about the raffle and to participate for a chance to win a Model D.
