NAMM 2009: SE Electronics RNR1 (Video)

Active Ribbon Microphone
Following our exclusive interview with hardware designer Rupert Neve and SE Mics' Sewei Zou at last Autumn's AES show (click here for the video), the first Neve-designed mic, the RNR1, is soon to be available.
The RNR1 is a ribbon mic that the developers say will perform like a condenser microphone, thanks to the circuitry designed by Rupert Neve. Here's an interview with James Young of SE distributors Sonic Distribution, who claims that from 20Hz to 20kHz, the mic has an "almost flat freqency response", which sounds impressive.
For more information, keep your eyes on the web sites of both SE Mics and Sonic Distribution.
