Orchestral Tools have announced the availability of the Berlin Woodwinds bundle. Containing the company’s Berlin Woodwinds, Soloists 1 - High Woodwinds, Soloists 2 - Low Woodwinds, Additional Instruments, and Woodwinds SFX libraries, the collection brings together each of the libraries in the company’s SINE player for the first time.
Described by the company as “the best woodwinds that aren’t actually made of wood”, this latest bundle offers a collection of detailed instruments and ensembles, rare instruments, and soloists, along with a wide range of specialist playing techniques and effects.
Berlin Woodwinds provides users with access to individual players for each section, each of which have been carefully recorded in traditional orchestra seating positions to allow for natural-sounding compositions. The library comprises three flutes, two oboes, a pair of Bb clarinets, and two bassoons, along with a piccolo, an alto flute, and an English horn. Adaptive legato patches react to playing speed, ensuring that fast runs and slow, expressive melody lines sound as authentic as possible, with further realism offered by multiple attack options.
The two Soloist collections then provide a wide range of individual instruments including a flute, oboe, English horn, clarinet, bassoon, bass flute, bass oboe, and bass clarinet, whilst Additional Instruments offers a contrabassoon, Eb clarinet, bass clarinet, and a contrabass clarinet. Finally, Woodwinds SFX rounds off the collection with a selection of non-traditional and experimental playing styles and effects.
Compatibility
The Berlin Woodwinds bundle runs within Orchestral Tools’ SINE Player, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10, and Macs running macOS 10.13 and above. It is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in formats. 86GB of disk space is required.
