Universal Audio have announced the addition of their Pultec Passive EQ Collection to UAD Spark, the company’s plug-in subscription service. With this same update, Spark now also features native compatibility with Apple’s M1-based machines.
Originally developed as a UAD Powered Plug-In for Universal Audio’s range of Apollo audio interfaces, the Pultec Passive EQ Collection includes plug-in emulations of EQP-1A, MEQ-5 and HLF-3C units, and was created using extensive end-to-end analogue circuit modelling to capture the essence of the highly-coveted vintage hardware. The inclusion in UAD Spark allows the plug-in to run natively without the need for any Universal Audio hardware, making the authentic emulation available to users of all audio interfaces.
“It’s fitting that the Pultec EQ Collection is now available in UAD Spark, alongside plug‑ins from so many other iconic audio brands,” says Bill Putnam Jr., CEO of Universal Audio. “We created UAD Spark to bring the sound of the best studio hardware ever made to all music creators, and these classic equalisers certainly belong in that category."
More information on the Pultec EQ Collection can be found on the product page on Universal Audio's website.
The collection is available for a free 14-day demo in UAD Spark, with UA Volt audio interface owners eligible for an exclusive 30-day trial. UAD Spark subscriptions cost $19.99 per month, and also include titles from Neve, API, Moog, Lexicon and more. Currently, Spark is only available on the Mac platform, with Windows support set to be added later in 2022.
