Reason 12.5 DAW free update VST3 plug-in virtual instrument support

Reason Studios have announced the release of Reason 12.5. A headline feature of the update is that the DAW now supports the use of VST3 plug-ins, allowing both Mac and Windows users to use any VST3 instrument, effect, or utility plug-in within their Reason session.

Version 12.5 also offers an increased number of available audio inputs, outputs, and parameters capable of being automated in all VST effects and instruments hosted by the software. A number of minor fixes and improvements have also been implemented.


Reason 12.5 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.13 and above. A minimum of 4GB of RAM is required, with 8GB recommended for large ReFills or Rack Extensions, and the software requires 5.5GB of disk space.

Reason 12.5 is available now, and is a free update to all Reason 12 and Reason+ users.
