Warm Audio have launched two new pedals: the WA‑C1 Chorus Vibrato and the Pedal76 Compressor. Both pedals showcase Warm Audio’s commitment to analogue design and their ongoing aim to bring legendary recording equipment into the hands of today’s engineers and musicians.
WA‑C1 Chorus Vibrato
The WA‑C1 Chorus Vibrato pedal is a tribute to one of the most iconic chorus pedals in music history, faithfully recreated and using a completely analogue preamp. Built to capture the original’s lush, modulated tones, the WA‑C1 offers deep, rich chorus and vibrato effects that replicate the signature midrange depth and stereo output associated with true analogue Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) pedals.
Whilst the original featured a single ‘Intensity’ control for the effects, Warm Audio have split this into separate depth and rate parameters. This means the WA‑C1 allows users to explore a broader range of chorus effects, from subtle modulation to deep, immersive textures. The pedal’s vibrato section adds an authentic “wobble” to the sound, offering everything from gentle modulation to fast, bouncing vibrato.
In addition to these tonal possibilities, the WA‑C1 includes selectable impedance settings, enabling users to switch between a vintage input impedance of 50k ohm or a 1.1M Hi‑Z setting. This feature means the pedal can be used with both guitars and keyboards, whilst preserving high‑end clarity. Internally, the WA‑C1 is powered by a dual DC‑DC voltage converter, a design intended to deliver stable power during performance.
Pedal76
Warm Audio’s Pedal76 brings the legendary 1176‑style FET studio compressor to the pedalboard in an all‑analogue format. Using over a decade of expertise from building their WA76 studio compressor (read the review in SOS May 2014), Warm Audio have designed the Pedal76 to deliver the same accuracy and dynamic control as the original in a pedal format.
Equipped with a custom CineMag transformer and high‑quality components, the Pedal76 circuit has been designed to replicate the performance and tone of the original studio units. Essential controls like Attack, Release, Ratio and Input allow users to fine‑tune their compression settings.
Optimised for live use, the Pedal76 features utilities such as true or buffered bypass, high/low gain modes and a dedicated balanced DI out for direct connection to mixing desks or recording rigs.
Price & Availability
Both pedals are available now, with the WA‑C1 Chorus Vibrato priced at $189€219 / £189 and the Pedal76 compressor available for $269€299 / £259 (prices inclusive of VAT).
