We’ve news of some more SOS Competition winners this month. September 2003’s competition prize, consisting of all four volumes of East West/Quantum Leap’s Symphonic Orchestra (Strings, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion) was won by Mike Taylorfrom Southampton (pictured below). The four volumes, which have a total value of £2279 and were donated by Arbiter Music Technology (+44 (0)20

The competition prize in SOS November 2003 was a TC Electronic Powercore Firewire recording system, comprising a flightcased Powercore Firewire and MOTU 896 Firewire interface, plus a set of AKG K271 headphones and an AKG C3000B mic. Donated by TC Electronic (+44 (0)800 917 8926/www.tcelectronic.com) and worth over £2800 in total, it was a great prize and highly desirable to all but
the most computer-phobic, judging by the massive number of entries! It was won by
23-year-old Matthew Stradling (pictured below), who graduated from
Bristol University with a BSc in Music Systems Engineering last year. He’s already got his first mobile recording gig and has plans for more.
Jealous? Well you can have a go at entering the JULY issue competition in a week or so, when it goes live on the site — there are eight Camel Audio software bundles up for grabs.
