Native Instruments surprised many users at this year’s NAMM Show with the announcement of the NKS Hardware Partner Program, a new series of collaborations that bring enhanced integration with NKS-capable instruments to a selection of third-party controller keyboards. Previously exclusive to those using NI's own hardware, the support allows controllers from the likes of Akai, Novation, Nektar, Korg and M-Audio to have their controls automatically mapped to parameters of any supported plug-in, virtual instrument or sample library.
The latest brand to join the list is Arturia, who have just announced that their KeyLab Mk3, KeyLab Essentials Mk3 and MiniLab controllers will soon be able to take control of over 2000 NKS-compatible titles via NI’s Komplete Kontrol software. The features are set to roll out over the next few weeks, and in celebration of the launch, newly registered owners of supported Arturia controllers will receive Komplete 15 Select (valued at $99€99) for free — the offer valid for new activations only.
“Arturia is committed to designing universal MIDI controllers, built to inspire creativity without limits. We're thrilled to partner with Native Instruments on NKS integration. This initiative brings greater connectivity and a more fluid workflow, benefiting creators who rely on both ecosystems.” - Martin Dutasta, Product Director, Arturia
"This reinforces our commitment to an open and connected music industry. We’re giving musicians the freedom to explore sound without workflow limitations." - Simon Cross, Chief Product Officer, Native Instruments
