Zoom have announced the launch of the H6studio Handy Recorder, a cutting-edge recording device designed for pristine audio capture in any environment. Featuring large-diaphragm XY microphones, four studio-grade preamps, and the ability to switch between 32-bit float and classic 24-bit recordings, the H6studio is set to revolutionise the way you record. With dedicated gain knobs and advanced "look-ahead" limiters, this recorder ensures ultra-clean audio and prevents distortion from reaching your tracks.
Product Overview
The H6studio Handy Recorder is equipped with Zoom’s Mic Capsule System 3.0, allowing you to capture up to eight tracks (six mono tracks plus a stereo mix) at sample rates of up to 192 kHz. It features four locking XLR/TRS inputs and one stereo mini-jack input with plug-in power, along with an angled, full-colour LCD display for real-time waveform display and level monitoring.
Additionally, the H6studio functions as a 6-in/2-out USB audio interface for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android devices, supporting 32-bit float and 16/24-bit recording. Live streaming and simultaneous recording to microSD are also supported.
Accessibility and Control
Designed with accessibility in mind, the H6studio allows blind and visually impaired users to navigate the menu with audible descriptions through the built-in speaker or headphones. The new ZOOM Handy Control & Sync app for iOS enables remote management of multiple Zoom recorders, control start/stop, and effortless synchronisation of timecode. Current compatible models include the H2essential, H5studio, and H6studio (BTA-1 or TCA-1 required).
