The Pulse Elements from Sonuscore

Free synth-based scoring instrument released

Sonuscore The Pulse Elements free cinematic scoring tool

Aimed at composers working in film, TV and video games, The Pulse has been designed to provide the rhythmic foundation for modern cinematic scores, and has been inspired by iconic synth-based soundtracks such as Blade Runner, Stranger Things and The Social Network. The instrument's creator, Sonuscore, have just announced the launch of The Pulse Elements, a free version that provides a curated selection of features from the full instrument.

Giving composers access to the same core technology that powers the fully fledged version, The Pulse Elements is said to be an instantly playable instrument that makes it possible to build evolving rhythmic cues and underscores with speed an precision. Its intuitive GUI has been designed to get users working on new ideas within minutes of loading an instance, and keep the focus on their creative process rather than technical setup processes. If you’re not familiar with the full version of the instrument, you can check out our review from the September 2025 issue here.

“We wanted to create something that captures the first spark of inspiration when you’re writing a synth-based score. It gives composers a genuine sense of what The Pulse can do, and more importantly, a musical reason to explore further.” - Tilman Sillescu, Creative Director, Sonuscore
