Arturia have announced an upcoming firmware update for the MicroFreak which will introduce a range of new features including a new Sample Engine, three new granular synthesis engines and a new set of factory presets.
The new Sample Engine will come with a collection of factory samples which are ready to use, as well as allowing users to load in their own, supporting up to a maximum length of 24 seconds. It will also be possible to reverse samples by inputting a negative length value in the Sample Engine menu. Additionally, a whole host of new sonic options will be added with the update thanks to a trio of new four-voice granular synthesis engines: Cloud, Scan and Hit.
The update will also include 64 new factory presets, and increase the instrument’s preset slot count from 384 to 512.
The MicroFreak Firmware V5 will be available to download on 30 May from the Arturia website.
