Audified upgrade MixChecker Ultra+

Tool gains built-in headphone calibration

Audified MixChecker Ultra+ headphone calibration correction plug-in

Audified’s popular mix-referencing tool has just been treated to an update that introduces a section dedicated to headphone calibration and compensation. With the launch of the latest version of MixChecker Ultra+, the already powerful tool now allows users to correct or customise the frequency response of their headphones.

Using a new dedicated page in the plug-in’s GUI, MixChecker Ultra+ users can now apply a corrective EQ profile designed to even out the response of their mixing headphones. There’s a drop-down menu filled with currently supported headphone models, and it’s possible for those working with multiple pairs to save their favourite model profiles for ease of access.

There are three target modes on offer: Flat, which aims to deliver a neutral, reference-grade response; Perfect, an ‘idealised’ target curve designed for natural, balanced listening; and Custom EQ, which allows users to create their own correction curve that can be used either on its own, or combined with the curve of other two modes.

Audified say that of the profiles have been made based on careful measurements, and users are invited to get in touch if their chosen model isn’t yet supported, so it looks like the feature is likely to be expanded in future updates.
