Focusrite have announced the discontinuation of their acclaimed Red series, starting with the cease of sales of the Red 3 compressor/limiter this year. Launched in the mid-nineties, the Red products featured Rupert Neve-designed circuitry and were recognisable by their claret-coloured faceplates with carved legending.
The company say that the other Red units, the Red 1, Red 7 and Red 8, will no longer be sold after 2010. Contact Focusrite if you want to get your hands on one of the last units.
