New amps for PMC monitors

DB1SA II and TB2SA II announced
Long-standing British monitor manufacturers PMC have revised the design of two of their most popular monitors, the DB1SA and the larger TB2SA. Named the DB1SA II and — logically enough — the TB2SA II, they feature a five and a half- and six and a half-inch bass driver, repectively. The 100W Flying Mole amplifiers, which were mounted on the back of the previous releases, have been replaced by PMC’s own 200W class-D DS001 units, which are said to deliver 92 percent power efficiency and a “cleaner, faster more neutral presentation across the full bandwidth.” The previous incarnations received outstanding reviews in SOS May 2005 for their “uncanny bass extension” and “superb resolution and stereo imaging”.
