British tube mic gets vintage twist with Mullard valve

We were really impressed by the original Mercury, a variable-pattern valve mic from British mic manufacturers Sontronics. Now, designer Trevor Coley has upped the ante by presenting the Mercury VE. Short for Vintage Edition, the special edition mic sports a NOS (New Old Stock) Mullard valve instead of the modern JJ valves that they source from Latvia.
