UJAM have just introduced the latest addition to their Hans Zimmer’s Symphonic Elements series, bringing together a collection of energetic percussion samples from the Oscar-winning composer’s sample library. While rooted in film scoring and trailer music, the company say that PERRCS’ versatile sound design tools make it equally suitable for pop, hip-hop and electronic music productions.
Designed as a counterpart for DRUMS, the new arrival focuses on high-frequency percussion sounds: sticks, shakers, tambourines, rimshots, rotos, frottoirs, boobams and more. a dual-layer design makes it possible to split the samples into low and high-layers and crossfade between them, while some tonal shaping is provided by per-layer EQ, Character and Motion FX controls. Creating complex rhythms is made simple thanks to a built-in Styles and Phrase engine, and a dedicated Sound Design section houses a selection of onboard effects that can be used to carry out everything from subtle enhancements to more obvious gritty textures.
“With Symphonic Elements, we've given you something that I've been playing with for many years as a starting point. Think of these sounds as musical building blocks — now go crazy, tear them apart, make your own music, and knock our socks off.” - Hans Zimmer
