Klevgrand have just announced the release of a major update for their popular amp and effects modelling plug-in. With the launch of version 1.2, Stark now includes a built-in version of the company’s noise-reduction processor, along with three new additions to its Pedalboard collection and a selection of new presets.
One of the standout features of the update is the inclusion of a special version of Klevgrand’s Brusfri plug-in, which brings built-in noise reduction to the popular effects suite. Setting it up is as simple as hitting the ear icon whilst only the unwanted noise is present, and Brusfri will respond by intelligently lowering the noise while allowing the wanted signal to pass unaffected. The plug-in’s Pedalboard has also gained three new effects — here’s what Klevgrand have to say about them:
- Spinner: a rotary speaker simulation that’s great for adding movement to the stereo field.
- Reverb+: An extremely powerful new reverb that allows users to blend between early and late reflections.
- Envelope Filter: a dynamic filter that’s capable of creating anything from subtle modulation to tone-shifting wah sounds.
Finally, version 1.2 of Stark comes supplied with 30 new presets designed for a range of musical styles such as beach house, indie, shoegaze and more.
Compatibility
Stark is supported on PCs running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs running macOS 10.10 and above. VST, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Stark is available now, and will be priced at $49.99 until 7 July 2025, when it will increase to its full cost of $99.99.
