Latest audio interface released
M-Audio have unveiled their latest portable audio interface, the Firewire Solo, designed as an easy-to-use, high-quality audio interface for recording guitar tracks.
The compact bus-powered unit is small enough to fit in the average laptop bag, and the metal chassis can be rack-mounted as well.
There's a quarter-inch guitar input and a phantom-powered XLR mic input on the front panel, each with a gain control and clip indicator LED. There are also dual line inputs and outputs, a headphone out and coaxial S/PDIF I/O.
The Firewire Solo supports 24-bit/96kHz audio and offers near-zero latency monitoring. The unit can be powered via the Firewire bus or optional power supply, and dual Firewire ports allow the Solo to be chained with other Firewire devices.
