Sound Particles have announced the release of MiniDust, a new software synthesizer that brings spatial audio capabilities and expressive modulation tools to a broader audience. Designed as a more accessible version of the company’s flagship SkyDust 3D synth (reviewed in SOS July 2023), MiniDust aims to deliver the same creative power in a more streamlined and affordable offering.
MiniDust features two of the same eight oscillators found in SkyDust, each offering individual filters, waveform modifiers and built-in randomness tools. MiniDust comes packed with over 250 presets and sub-presets, MPE compatibility, advanced modulation tools such as arpeggiators, pitch control and effects, a polyphonic sequencer and advanced spatial tools including spatial LFOs, envelope generators and 3D views.
MiniDust supports complex routing, dynamic layering and movement across space, making it suited for everything from cinematic sound design to modern electronic production.
