In a major expansion of their electronic drums line-up, Roland have announced the launch of two new kit ranges based on their V31 and V51 modules.

Alesis' new Nitro Ultimate is a nine-piece kit that’s been designed to offer a complete practice-to-performance solution, and promises to bridge the gap between entry-level and professional electronic drumming.

Aimed at aspiring drummers of all ages, the latest addition to Alesis’ extensive product range has been designed to offer a fun entry point into drumming while still delivering some serious pro-level features.

Inspired by acoustic handpans, the latest arrival to the Roland range produces a wide range of tranquil tones, and features a simple design that requires no previous musical skills. 

Roland, in collaboration with Drum Workshop (DW), have unveiled the DrumLink wireless system, which they are calling "a groundbreaking advancement in wireless triggering technology for electronic drummers".

The latest DW Soundworks expansion equips users with the sound of the company’s Collector’s Series kit, a model renowned for its bright attack, rich midrange and balanced sustain.

Boasting an ultra-compact form factor and a completely customisable interface, the Drumbeam has been designed to provide players with a comprehensive drum controller that fits in a backpack. 

DW have introduced a new virtual drum platform, along with a new drum kit series that can be converted from acoustic to electronic. 

Korg's new MPS-10 drum pad promises unrivaled control over sounds and parameters, whilst the KAOSS Replay combines their popular XY-based effects system with a powerful sampler.

As well as offering deep integration with Ableton Live, Akai Pro's new APC64 can be used to control hardware instruments thanks to a built-in sequencer and CV/gate connectivity. 

Firmware and software updates have kitted out Nektar's Aruba drum machine-style sequencer and pad controller with a new Record mode and three new drum synth instruments. 

Novation are celebrating their 30th year with a series of artist videos and a huge equipment giveaway.

Roland have announced a host of software and hardware upgrades across their range of V-Drums electronic drum kits. 

Roland say they have answered sample pad users’ requests with a host of added features.
