Frankfurt 2009: Spectrasonics Trilian (Video)

Virtual bass instrument
Spectrasonics have announced Trilian, the successor to their bass software instrument Trilogy. The most significant new feature, apart from the updated graphical user interface, is the use of Spectrasonics’ Steam Engine, which was first used in the highly regarded and powerful Omnisphere soft synth. This means that Trilian sounds can be loaded into and processed by Omnisphere (if installed on the same computer).

Trilian contains the same sounds from Trilogy — “in enhanced form”, according to Spetrasonics’ Creative Director and Founder Eric Persing — plus new ones that have been designed from the ground up. You’ll find basses from acoustic to electric; upright to synthesized, and with the Steam Engine running behind the scenes, you can morph between presets and create your own sounds.

Trilian will be available free of charge for anyone who bought Trilogy in 2009 (although shipping charges will apply). It is due to start shipping on the 29th June 2009, at a cost of $299. Upgrades for Trilogy users who purchased before 2009 will cost $99.
