Renowned Welsh studio Rockfield — birthing place of records by the Manic Street Preachers, Paulo Nutini, the Proclaimers, Beth Orton and many more — will be hosting a songwriting masterclass this coming November. Set up by producer and songwriter Lisa Fitzgibbon, as part of her acclaimed Pro7ect series of events, the whole-day masterclass will see a limited number of attendees get intensive tuition and songwriting inspiration from world-famous producer Gethin Pearson (Badly Drawn Boy, Kele Okereke, Mallory Knox), plus other experienced members of the Pro7ect team.
Though Pro7ect's masterclasses are usually three-day residential sessions, Covid restrictions require this to be a single-day affair — though pricing is adjusted accordingly, which makes this an ideal opportunity to try out the concept without committing to a full multi-day session. Lisa Fitzgibbon tells us that she's keen to get the three-day masterclasses going as soon as possible, but in the mean time, you can try it out in its new Covid-secure format for just £375.
